Ballymacrown Homestead, Baltimore, Co. Cork, Ireland
Take time out to relax in the gardens at Ballymacrown Homestead. Sit in the Rose Garden and enjoy the views to the mountains of West Cork. Follow the maze through the natural wild flower meadow and identify the numerous species of grasses and flowers. Or just sit in the orchard and watch the antics of our four resident ducks, paddling in the dew pond. Behind the cottages is the ornamental kitchen garden, where a variety of veg are grown organically. The gardens are bordered by fuchsia hedges and montbrecia - native species of West Cork. Visitors are welcome to help themselves and at harvest time enjoy fresh potatoes, onions and garlic.
